Hi there! I just thought I'd start a regular TTC Support thread. Who out there is TTC???
Here's my story. We started TTC right after Cooper turned 2 the March before last. Its been a trying time b/c we got pregnant first try with Coop so I was definitely not expecting to still be trying over a year later. I had an HSG test actually done today and everything looked great so that was a relief! DH does have low sperm issues but its strange because it seems to go up and down. He's had fairly high results and very low results. So here's to hoping this is the month!!
Right now I'm waiting to ovulate. :)
So who else is trying???

Hi there-
Well we haven't atually started TTC yet because that would actually require DTD and we haven't had time this month ;)
We are hoping to try soon :p
We got pregnant on the first try with Isaac so we'll see what happens this time.

Hi,
We are going to start trying in the next couple of weeks, now that ds and I have fulfilled my goal of two full years of nursing. :D We weren't trying to get pregnant with him, so I have no idea what to expect....I hope it happens soon though!! We don't want them to be too far apart, and I am really hoping for a pisces. heehee :p

We are officially trying now, my period ended on the 7th, and it might be a little too soon, but I'm hoping to sway the odds a little for a girl, so I figure the sooner the better.
Has anyone checked out fertilitygal.com? If you put in your information(cycle length, length of last period and when it started, etc.), it tells you when the best days are to TTC, and even whether it's a good time to try for a girl or a boy. What's getting me is, I have no idea how long my cycle length is(or my luteal phase, for that matter -- I know, I know, I should have been charting months ago). I haven't written down any of my period dates but I have a pretty good memory of them, mostly b/c I seem to be a lot more regular now than I was before I became pregnant the first time(or maybe it's that I'm paying more attention to them now, lol). I got my period back when ds was 15 months, and have had a period every month since then, except for October when I got it at the very end of the month, I skipped November entirely but then got it again the 1st day of December. But then...I remember specifically that I got my period in March on the 23rd/24th, and got it exactly a month later in April....then I skipped May and got it June 1st. So, I put that I have a cycle length of 31 days, but I have no idea how accurate that really is. :o
Well, that was a bit of a ramble....I've been a typing maniac lately! ;)

Hi!!
Does anyone know.......I took a Target brand First Response test that is supposed to be able to detect pregnancy 5 days early. It was a VERY faint line, but was there nonetheless (I took it in the middle of the day and had drank a lot of water which the instructions said might dilute HCG if it was early on) but it did NOT say anything in the instructions about a faint line?? I usually buy the Dollar Tree tests that say if there is a faint line then it is a positive result. I have never used these generic First Response tests!! My period is fairly regular but is more than 28 days, maybe 34 or so.......I also JUST reached 2 yrs of nursing, and my LMP was May 15th. This last month we were not 'trying' but I guess not being that careful.......my first was a clomid baby and the 2nd I got pg on the 26th day of my cycle but I had just stopped bf DD so they were not regular.
So ANYWAY, my original ? was does anyone know if a faint line on a generic first response is a positive or what! I guess I will just retest in the am and see what it says then, I am not sure if some tests might just look that way when you take them, if so, what a cruel joke!! I should have bucked up and bought the nice one for $17.99 instead of 3 for $9.99!!
(Hi Jessica!!)

If the faint line showed up immediately then its probably a positive! But if it showed up like 20 mins later than it could be an evap line. Cheapy tests are notorious for evap lines. Hopefully its the real thing! You better update us in the morning. :)

WELL......I just took another Target First response and there was NO faint line at ALL! Yesterday when I got the faint line it was right away, maybe it is just my morning eyes not being able to see but I dont see anything this am. In the past, other tests I have used always said that a faint line is a positive but I did some reading online last night and it seemed like a lot of people have this issue with a faint line then nothing! I can not imagine how heartbreaking this would be for someone who has been trying forever to have a faint line that is false!! I was kind of hoping to have a baby due next June or in the summer (my parents are teachers and will be off to watch my other kids) but I also know beggars can't be choosers, and I am 34 so I do think if I do not end up being pg this time, I do need to start keeping better track of things and start TTC so I will join you ladies!!
Good luck to those who have been TTC, and yes, the 2WW is excruciating.......with my DS somehow it went unnoticed that my LMP was 7 weeks prior as I was not expecting I could get pg with out Clomid that I took one time for my first pregnancy (resulted in pregnancy) for irregular (VERY irregular) periods. I would never know if it was just a long time in between periods or I was pg so I took a LOT of tests. I think I will go back to my Dollar Tree tests and I will call and complain about these stupid Target ones!!

Ok, now THIS is bizarre. I called the # on the pregnancy test (Target Early Response) and of course had to listen to a million recordings before getting someone on the phone. I was not really listening but did hear them say that if you took the test out of the protective wrapper more than 24hrs before taking the test it might give you an inaccurate result. I DID take the one that came out negative (test #2) out of the wrapper about 20 hrs before, as when I got the faint line I wanted to compare it and see if the other tests had that faint line to start off with. So I hung up and took the 3rd test and again got a faint but visible line right away in the test area. So I call back again and tell the chick the saga, and she said to go with the positive result (???) She said maybe the middle test came back negative because I did not have enough urine on it which is possible (though the control line was there) but I had my 2 yr old DS screaming and trying to get on my lap while I was trying to POS!! I woke up early and had to pee so I tried to sneak out of bed but he busted me and ran in the bathroom after me and was not happy at all.
Oh well, I guess we are off to buy more tests!!

WELL, after taking (lol) like 7 more tests that were negative (only one of these 7 was an 'early response' type test.....I got today what I believe to be my period!! VERY weird, and of course now I worry that it is a m/c or something. Who knows, I really want to call and complain that those Target Early Response tests do NOT work, or at least gave ME a faint line immediately 2 times when I dont believe I was pg!!
How is it going for every else?? The 2ww is inching closer for some of you!!

Well, my two week wait is turning out to be a little longer....
I think we stopped trying too soon, because I got a false positive on my ovulation test(or maybe I just misread it; but it really looked like a positive to me). We stopped trying on the 11th, and i didn't ovulate until yesterday, I think. At least that what it seems like from the descriptions that I've read....I'm still not completely sure how to tell if I ovulated. So I realized this yesterday, and not really knowing what else to do, we tried again last night, so if it does happen it will probably be a boy...(but you never know, so we'll see!) I'm waiting to see what happens with my next period, which should come the first week of July. I will definitely update then....*sigh*

Mia - do you chart your temps at all? really that can be the most helpful way to figure it out and then combine it with the ovulation tests and other signs.

Oh Goodie- so glad to find others traveling this road.
DH and I have been trying to concieve our 2nd child for 2 years! Finally went to see fertility docs about 2 months ago who took ALL the information my regular OB/GYN had gathered, did a simple calculation to correct a sperm count done on my husband a year ago and told us our problem is the count. Just a little frustrating given how simple the math was and the fact that my OB didnt seem to know to do the correction. Only after 4 months on Clomid with no effect did they send us on to specialists. Now we're doing clomid and IUI - had our first IUI session this past Tuesday. Now we're doing the TWW.

WELL, I have no idea when I ovulate (maybe Day 20?) because my cycle is really off, and is even LONGER.....like 33-34 days lately. However, I am just in the final stages of weaning my 25 month old (I dont offer, dont refuse so he will go a couple days with no nursing then decide that he wants to so I will nurse him) so I am not sure if things will be back to a 28 day schedule soon.
My LMP was June 18th, today is like Day 27 so I took a test and got a stupid faint line again. (see above postings!) I got 2 last month, then got my period on Day 34. I am thinking maybe it was a conception but no implantation?? It was a little heavier and I did see a couple pieces of tissue and some clots (sorry). Has anyone had this?? Kind of like a very very very early MC, so there was a little hcg (I had 2 early response tests come up positive with a very faint line but definately one there, I called customer service and they said that is a postive result) but then it seems like something happened and I got a period. I did test last week to be sure that I was not pg and the 'period' was just bleeding, or maybe I had 2 babies and one bled out but there was still one there......? I dont know!! So it is probably VERY early for me to test but there was the faint line again UGH!!
Normally I LIKE having a longer cycle but not while TTC!!!

Faint lines are the worst....have you tried the Clear Blue Easy pregnancy tests? It says either "Pregnant" or "Not pregnant", so there is no doubt about whether it's a positive or not.

Ya, I guess it would leave no room for guessing that way!! I have seen those, but they are a little too pricey for me! And right now it was probably very early to test, I am not really due for another week but I do have a friend who got an early result positive *very* positive, lol no faint line (!) on a generic Walmart Early Result test on what she believes to be 5 days after conception........so I decided to try and see! I have had good luck with Dollar Tree tests, but there is more waiting involved!!!

Jelly Bean, how many cycles of IUI did you do before going to injectibles?
I had a mid cycle ultrasound today, will have another on Wed. and probably IUI on Friday. This is our second cycle. Today the doctor mentioned injectibles but said he usually tries 3-4 cycles of oral clomid and IUI before going to injectibles.
Just curious about your experience.

We did 2 cycles on clomid with IUI's before doing this one with injectibles. And actually my RE only wanted to do one..he wanted me to do injectibles last month but I wanted to give the clomid one last shot since the meds are so pricey!!
But the good news is....the injectibles worked!!!!!! I got my BFP yesterday!!!!! We are so insanely thrilled! Now I just have to wait and see how many! :giggle
