I have to say one of my favorite quotes in this book is, "Please stop worrying about whether the 'other mommies' will make fun of you"! I can't count how much time I spend stressing about what others think, and for the most part I am not a person who cares. But the pressure to be a supermom is so great even when you acknowledge how absurd it is.

Hello Patricia,

I so wholeheartedly agree. I find myself at times looking at a mom in empathy and I wonder if she is taking it the wrong way. I feel the urge to offer help but I feel anxious about reaching out. Maybe if I did, it might help that mom that one day. It’s funny. My daughter is now 6-years old and people expect so much of our children when they reach the school-age and yet I feel more confident in my parenting that I let it roll off of me without any dents in my persona. Not so when she was under 2-years old. That could totally contribute to lack of connection.
