Hello. I'm looking for books or other resources on helping a child who is very emotionally sensitive. I know all young children can be emotionally sensitive at times, but my almost 3 year old is especially so. He has large emotional reactions to just about everything he experiences. This means he can be wonderfully loving and caring, but also challenging to deal with when he is angry or anxious.

Someone gave me the book "Raising Your Spirited Child" and my son certainly fits the profile of the child described by the author. However, I'm wondering if there are any more attachment parenting specific resources addressing this topic.

There's The Highly Sensitive Child (http://www.amazon.com/Highly-Sensitive-Child-Children-Overwhelms/dp/0767908724/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1265938875&sr=8-1), by Elaine Aron which is helpful!

Thank you for the book suggestion. I also just followed the link in the API newsletter about the "orchid hypothesis." That sure sounds like my guy!

I also recommend the books above. My 3 yr old DD sounds a LOT like your son! :)
