  • School squashing creativity / disrupt secure attachment

On page 59, Laurie writes: "Our school system often destroys children's creativity by: forcing learning, forcing the creative arts as subjects, criticing children's work, dolling out insincere praise of children's work, burning out children with busywork, and filling up their days with boring paperwork and assignments."

On page 81, the section talking about secure attachment disruption, she writes: "Forced to go to school, forcing leanrings or "lessons" (at school or home), school stressors, and school-related interference with home life, such as homework" are circumstances and actions that disrupt secure attachment.
