The United States Breastfeeding Committee (USBC) is a multi-sectoral, nonprofit coalition of more than 40 national organizations working to ďadvance breastfeeding on our Nationís agenda through Collaboration, Leadership, and Advocacy." With this survey, we are gathering information to learn about organizations, programs, and projects that are currently active in four areas of breastfeeding support, and to learn about those that could have a significant impact if engaged in these areas.

The survey is divided into five sections (the four areas, plus respondent information). If you donít have any information about a particular area, you may skip it. Specifically, we are interested in learning about organizations, programs, projects, etc. (especially lesser known, non-traditional, or unique) that address the following four areas:
    1. Mother-to-mother support and peer counseling
    2. Access to services of International Board Certified Lactation Consultants
    3. Community-based organizations that promote and support breastfeeding, especially in communities of color
    4. Continuity of skilled support between hospitals and community settings

All responses will be kept confidential. We do ask for your name and minimal contact information in case we want to follow up with you for more information about a particular program. We ask for demographic information to help ensure broad diversity of responses, including, but not limited to, race, gender, age, family status, geographic location, and occupation.

This survey is not only for lactation professionals or breastfeeding advocates. We welcome all responses as we value the perspective of mothers, fathers, and others who may be familiar with programs, etc.

We estimate that this survey should take about 15 minutes to complete, depending on how much information you wish to share. Please feel free to share the survey link with anyone you feel could provide information relevant to the four areas listed above.
