Question What to look for in a Preschool/day care center?

We are considering moving our son from an in-home daycare to a preschool type setting. Any advice about what to look for? Anyone found a preschool philosophy that works well with an AP household?

my children attend a montessori preschool. the philosophy couldn't be more AP: respect for child, facilitating peaceful interactions, no punishments or rewards. it's been one of the best parenting decisions we've made.

I would also suggest preschools that have a Reggio Emilia approach or an "Emergent" philosophy.

My son is at an Unitarian Universalist pre-school that is very AP freindly. You might also look for a Quaker based school, very peaceful, loving and kind. Of course Waldorf is great if you are lucky enough to have that where you live!

Generally, small class size and involvement of the parents, such as a co-op (like mine) help make it great.
Good luck.
