Donating to API
Attachment Parenting International (API) is supported by our members and donors like you. Our staff is small and mostly voluntary, our offices are virtual and our expenses cover essential operations - we're a lean organization where every dollar counts.
Please help us achieve our mission by making a tax-deductible donation today. You do not have to have a PayPal account to donate in this way, and you can donate using your credit or debit card.
While we welcome electronic donations and sponsorships submitted through PayPal, transaction fees reduce the amount of your donation.
If you prefer that API receive your donations in full, please download and fill out our pledge form (PDF) and mail it along with your check to:

Thank you for your support!
Sponsor a Project
Each year API incurs a variety of expenses for maintaining community, membership, and leadership support. We depend heavily upon donations, fund-raising, and grants to continue these projects. We greatly appreciate all donations, which contribute to our efforts to promote Attachment Parenting.
When making a donation via postal mail or our web site, please note the specific project you would like to support. All donations made to API are tax deductible.
Please note that when you use a credit card on our web site, API is charged a certain percentage of the transaction in fees.
If you have questions regarding any of the following projects, please send an e-mail to Brandy Lance.
Essential Operations & Technology
One of the most important gifts you can give is support for our basic operating expenses. While not glamorous, expenditures such as payroll, phone service, and rental fees are absolutely vital to our success.
- Operations - A donation of $6,000 will cover our essential operating expenses for one month or will fund the annual stipend of a staff position.
- Technology - A donation of $5,000 will cover these expenses for one year, allowing us to continue efficiently and effectively reaching parents and professionals. Examples of API technology contracts include Web-based services for database management, eMarketing infrastructure, survey response collection, and Web hosting.
Publication and Media
Our publications serve as a vital link between API, parents and professionals. We make these resources available as widely as we can in order to support and information parents and to promote secure and healthy attachments.
- NEW! Parent Education Program (PEP) - A donation of $5,000 will be earmarked for the critical launch phase of this new and important source of support and education for parents. This undertaking helps us realize one of our core strategies. In addition to being able to offer a new level of education, API will also be in a position to earn sustaining income. This program will be launched in May 2008 and Parent Educators will begin the process of training in the summer of 2008.
- The Journal of API - A donation of $4,000 will allow API to produce one issue of our quarterly publication, The Journal of API. The Journal is a valuable tool for supporting and educating parents and serves as a critical outreach tool through strategic placement in doctors' offices, children's museums, new baby welcome packets, high-risk parenting organizations, and other locations frequented by parents. Funds will be reserved for costs directly related to this publication, including editing and layout fees, printing, and postage.
- Education Materials - A donation of $3,000 will allow us to print 20,000 brochures. These materials will be made available to API Leaders, clinicians, and others who can use them as tools to expand our reach to parents in need. API realizes the importance of creating new materials for parents and leaders. Examples include pamphlets based on the full-length version of API's Eight Principles of Parenting and new brochures for parents and professionals.
- NEW! Enhanced Web Media - A donation of $1,000 will be earmarked for developing enhanced web media. Our newly redesigned website allows us a fantastic outreach tool through which we can offer support and education in new, exciting and more cost effective ways -- around the world. We would like to offer online training opportunities, a robust online community, and a multimedia experience that parents, interested community members, and leaders will enjoy and learn from.
