In memory of Marshall Rosenberg, Father of Nonviolent Communication

All of us at Attachment Parenting International (API) were saddened to hear earlier this week the news of Marshall Rosenberg’s passing. His book Nonviolent Communication is one of the most valuable resources available to the staff and leaders who volunteer time with API.

We believe in the power of communication and the necessity for individuals to learn how to speak to one another in ways that are peaceful and cooperative. The message of Nonviolent Communication is one that we encourage all parents to hear and we know that when they do a tremendous change occurs in the way they relate to one another and to their children.

We full heartedly believe this and as a result, we list the book Nonviolent Communication as a required read for all of our potential leaders who are bringing this material to their communities with the intention of helping other parents create stronger relationships.

Marshall Rosenberg’s work opened the door for many people to begin to study the importance of speaking and relating to others in peaceful ways and API is tremendously thankful for this.
