The best attachment parents are first securely attached to each other. The coupleship comes first. Learning to stay connected to your partner will help you be the best parent and you will parent with connection during the attachment phase and beyond as your child grows into adulthood. Odds are if you are not connected to your partner you will not parent out of connection and you will eventually end up in a power struggle with your child as your child approaches adolescents if not before.
